Aspen, CO - Big Air Finals 🏅

Here we are, the last event, and day, of this week in Aspen! It has definitely been a long and challenging week but all of these challenges is what makes you a better skier!

 Focusing before the contest started

Focusing before the contest started

I woke up this morning feeling so good, better than usual actually which was surprising considering the long week. I think I was really ready to end this week on a high note and I was feeling so focused and ready to do well in Big Air, which is my favorite event.

The format today was 3 jumps with the best jump score counting. We had sled laps in the morning, which was awesome because we got to train a little longer than normal.

I got straight to the point on my first run in once finals started and did one of biggest tricks in my bag, which is the dub 16 tail. I scored a 92 on the first run which was such an amazing feeling because it took all the pressure off for the other jumps. For the next 2 jumps I tried to better my score, but the judges seemed to like my first jump the best. My score of 92 managed to hold 1st place throughout the entire event and I ended up winning the contest!! This could not have been a better way to end this week I am so stoked!

We had to leave directly after the big air contest and drive to Denver because we have to catch a plane to Europe in the morning for the next World Cup!

The next post will be a recap video from the event where you can see what happened to me on my crash earlier in the week and see some shots from the event!
