Mammoth, CA - Sometimes You Feel It, Sometimes You Don’t

Most days on the hill are great and the plans you make before going out on the slope work out for the most part. Then there are days when it just seems like nothing is going your way, and today was one of those days for me.

It was the first day of training today and the course was a bit more unusual than others I have skied. The weather wasn’t great and the rails and jumps weren’t riding as well as they should. I came into the day feeling good and ready to start piecing my run together like I normally do, but that proved a lot more difficult than I thought. For some reason I just couldn’t seem to lock in a rail run, I tried all of the different options on the course and nothing was working. I kept falling on things I usually never fall on, not to mention it was too windy to hit the jumps so piecing the jump tricks together was out of the question. I kept pushing on throughout the day and trying to fight my frustration but nothing really ended up working. It definitely was one of the more frustrating days I have had in a long time but I know what I am capable of and I just need to brush it off and wrap my head around tomorrows training session.

This was me today having to take a 5 minute breather to try and ease the frustration.

Tonight I am just going to relax, watch a movie and reset my mind. Tomorrow is another day and I am ready for it!

Stay tuned,
