Font Romeu, Training Day 2 – Sun, Wind and Ice
Day 2 of training wasn’t as big of a success as the first day, but it was still a ton of fun! We got up to the hill mid day and it was looking prime, the sun was shining and the course was looking mint, until we stepped out of the vehicles… the winds were blowing upwards of 50km/h and the course was a sheet of ice. It was so windy that the chairlift was shut down so we couldn’t even get to the top of the course! Everyone was a little bummed at first, but that didn’t stop us from skiing! All the competitors decided that we would just hike the rail section at the bottom of the course and have an afternoon training session, and it actually worked out really well. Aside from the long ass hike back and forth up the rail section and the ridiculously strong winds blowing in my face, it was actually a super fun and beautiful day ! This also gave me a chance to really focus on my rail section, which was the only part of my run that I didn’t perfect on day 1.
I got some pictures of the course to show you, take a look!
